Originally created in 1982 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eastern Maine Healthcare, AHS has worked diligently both to enhance and support the clinical care delivery systems within what is now Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems and to build one of the largest integrated healthcare support system networks in New England.
 Today with almost 600 employees and annual operating revenues in excess of $90 million. AHS 14 operating divisions and joint ventures provide both healthcare related and commercial services to over 2,000 customers.

AHS corporate offices are located in the Douglas H. Brown building on the Mall campus. AHS also maintains several service locations in Bangor as well as in Augusta, Portland, Brookline, Mass. and Rutland, Vt.
AHS’ corporate goal is to:
- aggressively and proactively pursue growth opportunities with current and new customers in existing geographic markets,
- expand existing healthcare service sales outside of our traditional geographic area, and
- seek additional business opportunities to the benefit of EMHS
